Starting on National Water Day, a series of workshops uses innovative communication channels to raise young people's awareness of the conservation of natural resources and the adoption of more sustainable behaviour.
In total, around 100 3rd to 6th grade students from the municipalities of Matosinhos, Oliveira de Azeméis, Santa Maria da Feira, Santo Tirso, Trofa and Vila do Conde are challenged in face-to-face and remote programming classes, to create characters from drawings on paper, and then bring them to life (in 2D format) in fun scenarios and missions, with water as the background theme.
The initiative culminates with the availability of games on an online platform, which can be played by everyone, and a contest launched at participating schools, which awards the makers of the best games with an advanced programming course.
